In Call of Dragons, there are hundreds of servers, and more are opening every day. Over time, some servers become overcrowded, lose popularity, or players simply want a fresh start with new alliances and leadership. If you’re considering migrating, this guide will walk you through the often overcomplicated process and break it down into simple, easy-to-follow steps.

Understanding Migration in Call of Dragons

Migration allows players to move their city to another server within the same Division. Divisions are groups of servers that share the same world map during a season. You can only migrate to servers within your current Division and only during specific migration windows.

Requirements for Migration

To be eligible for migration, ensure you meet the following requirements:

  • City Level: Your city must be at least level 16.
  • Server Quota: Destination server has not filled its season migration quota or maxed out its realm migration score.
  • Server Availability: The destination server must not be full.
  • Character Limit: No more than 5 characters on the same account per server.
  • Personal Requirements: No troops dispatched in the field, not in an alliance, resources must not exceed storehouse limit.

Top tip: Try and use resources before you migrate, whether this is on healing, research or building to prevent losing the excess.

How to Obtain Migration Permits

To migrate in Call of Dragons, you’ll need Migration Permits. These can be obtained in one of two ways: by purchasing them through the Alliance Store or by buying bundles with real money.

Free Method – Alliance Store

Migration Permits can be purchased for 300,000 member points or 1000 gems. A maximum of 5 permits can be stocked in the store at any given time and are restocked at UTC midnight when the store refreshes.

This method doesn’t require real money. You can either spend the gems you earn in-game or take part in alliance activities like building, help requests, and donations, to accumulate member points.

Paid Method – Store Bundles

If you’re after a quicker migration option or don’t think you’ll earn enough Member Points, you can purchase the Glorious Journey bundle from the store. The first time you buy it each month, it costs $4.99 and includes 1 migration permit. Any additional purchases during the same month will cost $9.99, but they’ll include 2 migration permits instead of one.

How to Migrate in Call of Dragons

Once you’re familiar with the details of migration, follow this step-by-step process to migrate properly through special migration. Be sure to have the required number of migration permits at the ready.

1: Zoom away from your city and click the icon in the bottom right of the screen.

2: Find your target server by using the drop down list or using the server search feature in the bottom left. It’s important to find a server that is in the same season as your account. Servers with a red marker are usually full or not currently accepting migrants.

For the best outcome, check the official Call of Dragons Discord to find servers that are actively recruiting and discuss your plans with them in advance.

3: Read the server power requirements, and make sure the season migration list is all ticked. Hit the apply button if everything looks good.

Note: Accounts that are under the power requirement can migrate without having to apply. This is NOT recommended as there is no guarantee alliances will let you in, and in worst-case scenarios, your city can be zeroed. Always get the King’s permission before migrating to any new server.

After applying, you’ll receive a message showing your current power level and the number of permits required to migrate.

Tip: If you are desperate to migrate and are struggling to get permits, you can reduce your power by deleting troops. If you lower your power below the previous threshold, the number of permits required will be less.

4:If your application is approved, you’ll receive a confirmation mail under the System tab. Once you receive it, you’ll have 3 days to complete your migration to the selected server.

6: If your destination server is currently in-season, be aware that you won’t receive season rewards, and your policies will be reset. Don’t worry, everything will return to normal once the season ends. Read through the information carefully, and if you’re happy to proceed, tick the checkbox and press the Migrate button.

Migration Tips

  1. Collect permits in advance: Even if you’re not planning on migrating straight away it’s always a good idea to stock up on permits from the alliance store.
  2. Delete troops to lower power: If you’re having trouble collecting enough permits for your current power level, you can reduce the migration cost by deleting troops to lower your overall power.
  3. Save as many speedups as possible: If you need to regain power quick after migration, having a large stash of speedups can help you recover quicker.

FAQ: Is Migration Worth It?

Whether migration is worth it depends on your personal situation. If you’re in a highly competitive server with strict merit requirements and you’re more of a casual player, it might be a good idea to move to a server with lower demands.

Migration is also a great option if you’re looking for new leadership or simply want a fresh challenge.

However, if you’re happy where you are and don’t see any real benefit in moving, it’s probably best to stay put and save your permits for the future.

Keep in mind migration can be expensive, especially for higher-powered players. If you’re struggling to get permits from the alliance store, it could end up costing a significant amount of real money. Always plan ahead before making the move.
