Best Hero Pairings in Call of Dragons

Call of Dragons offers a wide range of hero pairings, and with so many heroes available, it can be difficult to decide which ones are worth investing in, and how best to pair them.

We’ve put together a list of the top 5 best hero pairings based on the current game meta. All of these pairings will be strong in open-field PVP battles, therefore if you want to improve your offense gameplay you’ve come to the right place.

When newer heroes are introduced to the game this list may change, so check in regularly. Check out our hero tier list for Call of Dragons to see how each hero ranks individually.

Liliya – Velyn

Liliya and Velyn make an excellent mage pairing and are available right from the start of the game. Despite being early-game heroes, they remain highly effective even in the Season of Strife, making them one of the best long-term investments.

It’s worth noting that Liliya is a pay-to-play (P2P) hero, so upgrading her skills will require a real-money investment. However, if you have the budget to purchase her bundles, you’ll benefit from consistently high merit gains across seasons.

Maggrat – Zayda

Maggrat and Zayda are the best DPS marksman pairing in Call of Dragons, making them ideal for both Behemoth battles and open-field PvP. Their damage output is incredibly high, but the trade-off is a very fragile march that can be quickly eliminated if targeted. It’s important to kite effectively and avoid taking direct hits.

Thunderlyn – Thaleia

Thunderlyn and Thaleia make a more tanky, control-focused mage pairing. Their strength lies in survivability, offering strong healing and shield buffs that keep them on the field longer.

Bertrand – Tohar

Bertrand and Tohar are the top mage flying pairing in Call of Dragons. This duo focuses on high mobility while still delivering solid DPS. Pairing them with Celestial units is ideal, as it allows them to move freely over terrain obstacles. They’re a fantastic choice for chasing down distant enemy units and striking from unexpected angles.

Goresh – Skogul

Infantry marches play a crucial role, and Goresh and Skogul are a popular and reliable pairing. A strong infantry march helps control the battlefield and reduces pressure on your DPS marches. Goresh and Skogul are widely regarded as the best choice, thanks to their excellent counterattack damage and powerful defence buffs.
