We’re midway through January, and exciting news awaits – the details for February 2024’s Pokémon GO Community Day are here! Brace yourself, as this Community Day revolves around Chansey, the egg Pokémon. This article contains all the crucial information to assist you in gearing up for the upcoming event.
Date and Time
The Pokémon GO Community Day for February 2024 is set to be released on Sunday 4th February from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm local time.
After the event ends, you can join bonus four-star raid battles with featuring Chansey until 10:00 pm local time. Win a raid, and more Chansey will pop up near the gym, giving you a chance to catch extra Chansey and earn valuable candy.
Increased Shiny Chansey Chances
The likelihood of encountering a shiny Chansey gets a boost during the Community Day event thanks to the increased spawn rates. According to Pokemon Go Hub, the average odds of encountering a shiny Pokemon during a Community Day event are 1 in 25.
Featured Blissey Evolution Move
Trainers who evolve Chansey into Blissey during the Community Day event or up to 5 hours after, will get a Blissey that knows the charged move Wild Charge.
Wild Charge is an electric-type move with a power of 100 in trainer battles, and it always lowers the user’s defense. In gyms and raid battles, the move maintains a solid power of 90 without the drawback of lowering the user’s defense.
Event Bonuses
Here’s a rundown of the event bonuses you can look forward to on Chansey Community Day. These bonuses will be in effect from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm, extending the opportunity to enjoy the advantages even after the event ends.
- Double Candy for catching Pokémon.
- Trainers at level 31 and above have double the likelihood of obtaining XL candy when catching Pokémon.
- Incense and lure modules activated during the event will last for 3 hours.
- You can make one additional special trade on the day.
- There’s a chance of Happiny hatching from 2km eggs, with increased odds of finding a shiny one.
- Trades will require 50% less stardust.
- Eggs placed in the incubator during the event will have a 1/4 hatch distance.
Preparation For Chansey Community Day
Prepare thoroughly before the event by ensuring you have the necessary items to catch lots of Pokémon. Develop a checklist of tasks for the day to stay organized and enhance your chances of being a successful trainer.
Stocking Up on Pokéballs
Make sure you’ve got plenty of Pokéballs. The event is short, and you don’t want to spend that time searching for balls instead of catching more Chanseys.
Think about grabbing some Great Balls and Ultra Balls—they have better catch rates. Doing this will help you catch more Chanseys. It will also improve your chances of getting a valuable shiny or one with perfect IVs.
Organising Your Journey
Before you go out, make sure you know your journey. Plan a route with lots of Pokéstops to restock your supplies, especially Pokéballs for catching more Chanseys. Having a well-organized travel plan can boost your efficiency.
Visit the Pokémon GO website to access an interactive map that can help you locate popular parks or community meetups. Prioritize your safety if you choose to join a community meetup.
